A Few Breast Implant Details

<!–[if !mso]>–>

Being concerned with ones physical appearance is natural for all men and women. It is also natural for most women to disagree with one aspect or another of their body. After experiencing changes in the body which have to do with fluctuations in weight and child birth, most women would like to restore the shape and size of their breast. Weight fluctuations may cause women to loose volume and shape in the breast in order to restore the breast to their more youthful size or shape one must undergo Breast Augmentation Surgery. There are many options for breast augmentation but all are Plastic surgery Boston. Although some individuals would disagree with plastic surgery procedure, in many cases plastic surgery is the only option for fixing or changing a physical aspect of the body.

Breast Implants is a popular choice for all women who are interested in having larger breast. Breast Implants can restore the breast to the original size or make them larger the shape will also be restored. There are several choices one has to make before undergoing breast augmentation. If one is choosing to have Boston Breast Implants one must know how many techniques for breast implants there are and which type of breast implant is best. One should consult with their surgeon and see if breast implants is the best option or if one requires a breast lift instead. A breast lift is generally for the woman who is happy with the size of her breast, but wants to restore the shape and make the breast appear fuller.

Breast implants enlarge the breast and add to the shape, but they do not completely reshape the breast as the implant will still sit in the natural shape unless one has a breast lift. Like all other Boston plastic surgery procedures Breast Implant Surgery also has its set of risks and possible complications. One should also take this into consideration when having to choose between which type of breast implant silicone or saline.

Boston Breast Augmentation risks include risks from general anesthesia unless ones surgeon uses a different form of anesthesia. Risks of infection and or complication are rare but are present. One should discuss with their surgeon the possibilities of complications and recovery period from breast implant surgery. Most patients take about a week to return to work and their normal daily routine. This time span may vary depending on the specific details of surgery.

A star writer for the New York Times Styles section captures the follies, frauds, and fanaticism that fuel the American pursuit of youth and beauty in a wickedly revealing excursion into the burgeoning business of cosmetic enhancement.Americans are aging faster and getting fatter than any other population on the planet. At the same time, our popular notions of perfect beauty have become so strict it seems even Barbie wouldn’t have a chance of making it into the local beauty pageant. Aging may be a natural fact of life, but for a growing number of Americans its hallmarks—wrinkles, love handles, jiggling flesh—are seen as obstacles to be conquered on the path to lasting, flawless beauty. The purpose of this research is to examine through sociological and psychological theories how women make sense of the desire and attainment of breast implants for graduation.;The study used a qualitative approach and focused on women ages 18-35 in the state of Texas who have received breast implants for graduation. The sample size in this study included 10 high-school graduates receiving implants as a gift and their 10 mothers.;Seven theoretical paradigms provided a better understanding for why the daughters asked for breast implants and why the parent(s) paid for them. Symbolic interaction theory explained why the daughters wished to replace their “fake” cotton padded self with their augmented self, to become the most authentic woman possible. Social construction of reality theory explained why both mothers and daughters wanted to conform to the social construction of gender, and to accomplish their gender well. Conspicuous consumption theory demonstrated how cosmetic surgery practices allow women to appear wealthy, gain status, and “flash” their assets. Feminist theory explained why some women were motivated to capture the attention of men and others altered the body out of empowerment. Reference group and social comparison theories explained how the women in this study were influenced to undergo cosmetic surgery by ranking themselves in attractiveness against real friends and media icons. Lastly, self-discrepancy theory showed how the daughters in this study felt they needed surgery to fix a discrepancy between their real and ideal self.;The majority of respondents expressed complete comfort with their gifting and receiving of breast implants for graduation, claiming it was a great decision. They also agreed surgery was worth any risk to increase their daughter’s confidence. Most of the mothers expressed that they were comfortable with their decision to gift surgery to their daughters, despite knowing that their gift of augmentation would ultimately result in

Desires Of The Heart

Carson and Katharine O’Connor seem on the surface to be perfect people—good-looking, successful, and God-fearing, but no one could accuse them of being too perfect to be believable. Katharine spends her life building a home and family until the day Carson leaves her and allows a voluptuous, cunning school counselor, Cindy Lomax, and her disturbed pre-teen daughter, Deanna, to move in with him on a platonic basis—or so he thinks. Katharine must find her way beyond the past and will stop at nothing to rebuild her marriage, including breast and buttock implants in order to compete with Cindy’s striking figure in winning her husband back. When tragedy strikes, Carson realizes it was pure love that guided him to Katharine. Is it too late for Carson to rectify his mistake with her? Will Cindy’s vengeful tactics prevail? Will Deanna’s criminal intention manifest itself? Will Katharine find the strength to forgive, despite the fiery darts that have been thrown at her? Desires of the Heart is a story of lost and found faith, learning to love yourself, how one man’s selfish decisions affect and endanger those around him, and a glimpse into how man looks at outward appearance but God looks at the heart.“Clean, well written and refreshing novel. You’ll think twice about cosmetic surgery after reading this story by a gifted author.”—-Southern Press“Carson’s depression, Katharine’s insecurities, Cindy’s mental illness (which is the root of her promiscuity), and Deanna’s loneliness and craving for a father make Desires of the Heart an engaging, eye-opening, honest-to-God good read.”—-The Amen Chronicle A. Making the Cut: How Cosmetic Surgery is Transforming Our Lives

Making the Cut: How Cosmetic Surgery is Transforming Our Lives

$19.95

From London to New York, Madrid to Melbourne, Singapore to Tehran, the demand for cosmetic surgery is soaring. Botox injections, collagen fillers, breast implants, microdermabrasion, mini face-lifts: extreme reinvention is all the rage. For better or worse, ours is the era of cosmetic surgical culture. In this captivating book, which draws upon research conducted in Europe, America and Australasia, social commentator Anthony Elliott investigates the rise and rise of cosmetic surgery, lucidly reviewing recent developments in celebrity culture and the consumer industries, which many argue are responsible for the popularity of cosmetic and surgical forms of extreme reinvention. Yet it is not just cultural forces advancing the makeover industries: Elliott shows that cosmetic surgical culture has become increasingly global in our own time as a result of major institutional changes dominating public life in Western societies. He provocatively argues that personal vulnerabilities have reached the point where people turn to surgical culture in an effort to reinvent themselves and improve their life prospects Making the Cut paints a disturbing social portrait of a global culture held in thrall to immediacy, where cosmetic surgical enhancements of the body are fundamental to new forms of self-design and self-improvement.

Surgical Implants and Other Foreign Bodies: IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans

Surgical Implants and Other Foreign Bodies: IARC Monographs on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans

$9.95

Evaluates the carcinogenic risks to humans of surgical implants and other foreign bodies. Foreign bodies are defined as any exogenous object that has been introduced into the tissues or cavities of the body and is not rapidly absorbed. The evaluation focuses on exposures caused by the presence in the body of a solid metallic or non-metallic object as a result either of surgery or of involuntary penetration, as through a war wound. Medical and dental devises are grouped together as metallic, non-metallic, and mixed materials, which have different profiles of biological activity. The volume opens with a review of key concepts in the understanding of host-material interactions. Subsequent chapters evaluate human exposure data, evidence from case reports, and analytical studies for carcinogenicity in humans and in companion animals, evidence of carcinogenicity of implanted materials from animal experiments, and further background material on mechanisms of degradation and carcinogenicity. On the basis of this review, three implants were classified as possibly carcinogenic to humans: polymeric implants prepared as thin smooth films, with the exception of poly(glycolic acid) implants; metallic implants prepared as thin smooth films; and implanted foreign bodies of metallic cobalt metallic nickel and an alloy powder containing 66-67% nickel 13-16% chromium and 7% iron. The remaining materials and implants could not be classified on the basis of available data. The evaluation cites evidence-suggesting lack of carcinogenicity in humans of breast implants made of silicone for female breast carcinoma.
